Summary
The role involves handling complex assignments that require significant judgment and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations. The responsibilities encompass diagnostic and troubleshooting activities across all Workcells from both ICT and FVT perspectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze Process Yields: Review daily process yield reports to identify issues such as operator errors, defective products, and test equipment defects. Implement corrective actions to address these issues.
- Increase Production Yields: Reduce operator errors and address defects in manufacturing and test engineering to improve production yields.
- Preventative Maintenance: Collaborate with Test Engineers to develop and ensure compliance with preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and enhance process yields.
- Downtime Analysis: Examine downtime records to establish guidelines for scheduling preventative maintenance.
- Maintain Process Documentation: Ensure all process bibles are up-to-date and accurate.
- Review Procedures: Verify the completion and adherence to all 5x5 procedures.
- Inspections and Evaluations: Conduct walkthroughs, inspections, product evaluations, and testing as needed.
- NPI Test Evaluations: Perform evaluations for new product introduction (NPI) tests.
- Prevent Test Escapes: Proactively take steps to prevent test escapes.
- Product Testing: Ensure completeness and reliability of product testing.
- Documentation: Update and generate necessary documentation.
- Test Process Review: Assist the Project Test Engineer with reviewing the test process.
- Evaluate Test Probes: Assess the functionality and suitability of test probes.
- Equipment Setup: Set up equipment for programming and verification tests according to established procedures.
- Quality and Efficiency: Ensure work meets or exceeds Jabil Workmanship Standards and enhance efficiency using the SPC system when available.
- Operate Test Equipment: Use automated electronic test equipment to test manufactured circuit board assemblies and subassemblies.
- Maintain Production Flow: Ensure continuous flow on the manufacturing line and meet production goals while performing testing duties.
- Label and Document: Correctly label and stamp boards, fill out tags, and maintain accurate daily logs and production tickets.
- Report Failures: Inform the supervisor of recurring test failures to enable prompt corrective actions.
- Handle Assemblies: Ensure proper handling and marking of assemblies.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety and health regulations.
- Security Policy: Follow all company security procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree, Technical School Certification, or equivalent, with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and work experience.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of test engineering department procedures related to the job.
