As a key member of the R&D department, you will be responsible for creating multiple iterations of components for testing and evaluation, fabricating hand tool prototypes to precise specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality prototypes.

The Build (Responsibilities)

•  Support the Test Lab Supervisor in overseeing Model Shop equipment, workload, and ensuring timely execution of project work.
•  Deliver high-quality prototypes for design validation and functionality.
• Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure alignment with program schedules.
• Work with outside vendors on complex projects and determine whether to outsource work.
• Operate and program 3 & 5 Axis CNC mills, wire EDM machines, and manual equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinding machines for fabricating complex prototypes, test parts, and trade show demonstrations.
• Utilize various Rapid Prototype (RP) techniques and equipment, including 3D printing (FDM, Poly-jet Technology).
• Utilize Microsoft Office, SmartSheet, CAD/CAM software (Creo, Hypermill 3&5-axis, CAMplete 5-axis, Esprit EDM) for daily activities.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of model shop equipment and machines to ensure smooth operation.
• Maintain a clean and efficient work environment using 6S principles.
• Work proactively with a strong sense of urgency.
