Overview

Installs, configures, and maintains various network devices and services to include routers, switches, access points, firewalls, and VPN’s. Monitors network utilization to optimize performance and security configurations

Responsibilities

Installs, configures, and maintains various network devices and services including routers, switches, access points, firewalls, VPN’s, load balancers, QoS, LAN, WAN, MPLS and ASEOD.

 

Monitors network performance and ensure availability and reliability.

 

Troubleshoots, resolves, and communicates network issues and field communication failures.

 

Assists in selection and implementation of security tools, policies and procedures. Configures and maintains network security to protect data, software, and hardware.

 

Creates internal documentation for network configurations, mapping, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                                  

One year certificate from college or technical school and a minimum of three years related experience

and/or training.

 

Computer Skills                                                             

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. Proficient in network security principles and best practices. Familiar with virtualization technologies (VMWare). Strong knowledge of firewall rules and NAT policies. Fortinet product background preferred. Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) optional.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Security+ or similar. Cloud+ optional.
