Job Description
  • As a member of the Facility Maintenance Mechanic team, you will be supporting the MER campus working on a broad range of tasks. These tasks include carpentry, sheetrock repairs and maintenance, flooring installs and maintenance, suspended ceiling installs and maintenance, door and lock installs and repairs, light moving and rigging, along with other duties as required.  The successful candidate must also have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and capable of working in a collaborative team environment.
Location of this position is 130 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH and is considered Full-time, onsite.

Required Skills and Education
  • Requires a High School diploma, or GED, and at least two (2) years of general maintenance experience.
  • Support space planning; moves, adds & changes
  • Responsible for coordinating and executing personnel moves on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to operate within a computerized maintenance work order system.
  • Responsible in maintaining inventory control of used furniture for the facility. May pick-up and deliver urgently needed materials and perform miscellaneous stock retrieval duties as required.
  • Operates fork lift or hand trucks as required to move supplies and recycling bins.
  • Installs, moves and removes a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment using special tools and equipment such as staging, hoists and rigging.  Erects and secures staging, hoists and rigging in compliance with codes and safety practices.
  • Installs, maintains and dismantles a wide variety of facility equipment. Must be capable of working from blueprints, equipment drawings, schematics and manufactures specification and literature.
  • Works independently and/or leads a group of workers to complete assignments, renovations, fit-ups or repairs. Must be capable of performing periodic maintenance inspection on all types of facilities infrastructure and equipment. 
  • Must have a great customer service demeanor and be capable of working with outside contractors and vendors.
  • Interfaces with local project management, plant engineering, and contractor to obtain, furnish, and/or exchange information as necessary for efficient and effective completion of required project tasks.
  • Carpentry (including sheetrock installs and repairs, floor tile repairs, painting)
  • Install/ Repairs of doors , hardware and locks
  • Window Repairs and coordination  
  • Installs, moves and removes a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment using special tools and equipment such as staging, hoists and rigging.  Erects and secures staging, hoists and rigging in compliance with codes and safety practices.
  • May be required to clean and service equipment that may contain hazardous substances and to participate in the sorting and accumulation of hazardous waste materials in accordance with the Federal, State and Local regulators.
  • May be required to participate on special teams including but not limited to: snow removal, emergency response and must be responsive to off-hour emergencies
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.
  • Support Sustainability and energy management initiatives
  • Required to participate in an on-call rotational roster to support off hour emergencies.
  • Must be able to operate within a computerized maintenance work order system. Qualitied candidate must be able to log work performed, provide a brief explanation of the problem and summarize what was replaced and or repaired.

Typical Education and Experience
Typically a High School Diploma and 1 year work experience or equivalent experience
