Job Description:

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for maintaining, developing business and expanding market share in NOV Grant Prideco’ s core business within the assigned geographical areas and accounts.

 

The key responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Identify new sales opportunities,
  • Support customers throughout the purchasing process, 
  • Be the voice of the customer within our organization and relay important order information back to the customer, 
  • Leverage Customer Relationship Management System to relay information to support revenue forecasting, marketing efforts and innovation pipelines, 
  • Drive results all the while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Work with US land operators to solution their challenges.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience within the Oil and Gas Sector (Field Operations, Sales, Marketing, Technical experience) preferred. 
  • Experience in drilling technology, drill stem/string products, and services, product field support; or the ability to quickly assimilate detailed technical information regarding our product lines.
  • Proven track record of setting and meeting ambitious goals. 
  • Strong sales acumen and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience with Managing the Sales Funnel process (from the lead, proposal, order, delivery, after-sales support, to collections).
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral and ability to speak confidently to various customer groups including: Operators/Producers, Drilling Contractors (Onshore and Offshore), Rental Companies, Machine Shops, etc.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a passport and be able to obtain visas in the regional countries.  This role may require up to 25% domestic and international travel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all sales activities from lead, proposal, follow-up, order, delivery, after-sales support, to collections, in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Act as liaison between various internal groups and our customer base.
  • Maintain and update records of all Operator activities for the region/area/country: CRM/Sales Cloud, Sales Visits Reports, Yearly Sales and Marketing Plans, Monthly Sales Reports and others required as needed.
  • Actively retain and develop our customer base within a given geographical area as assigned by the management team. 
  • Proactively Identify new projects and opportunities in the region/area/country assigned and outline project specifics, market activity, and trends. 
  • Continually Identify customer profiles (project evaluators, influencers, and decision-makers) to determine strategies for developing accounts. 
  • Communicate effectively and provide sales and technical presentations at all levels as needed.
  • Develop an awareness of competitor products and tactics as well as develop strategies to counter when necessary.
  • Actively participate in sales meetings, customer meetings and any type of marketing events assigned.
  • (IF NEEDED) Provide back-up cover for licensee support in the region when applicable.  This covers audits and monitoring licensee activity.
  • Train and develop skills to audit GP’s licensee network.  Become certified GP licensee auditor.  Perform audits on occasion as needed to support Licensee Management Team.
