Senior Financial Analyst
Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst will conduct quantitative analyses of information involving financial data of various reginal offices, including analyses of investment decisions and valuation of MEI as a whole. Will make financial forecasts or investment recommendations, and guide leadership in decisions as they relate to financial strategy, with the goal of minimizing risk while maximizing financial strength. This position may be remote; preference is that work is performed on a hybrid basis from one of MEI’s regional offices for an agreed-on portion of each work week.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, or analyze financial records, systems (including non-financial systems), and activities for efficiencies and opportunities. Use data, trends, and knowledge to guide MEI regarding forecasts and expenditures.
- Maintain a rolling forecast process to provide up-to-date projections on a regular basis.
- Implement budgeting processes, including preparing budgets and performing variance analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support business cases for new initiatives and investments. Make informed investment decisions by analyzing financial information to forecast business, industry, or changes to economic conditions.
- Build and maintain reporting for Executives, the Board, and banking partners.
- Prepare and maintain reporting for regional offices and corporate offices.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular updates to management on business performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather data and ensure accuracy of financial forecasts.
- Analyze trends and changes in revenue, expenses, and other key financial metrics.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support decision making.
- Prepare and validate acquisition-related data migration to the company ERP system.
- Reconcile certain balance sheet accounts, including the acquisition receivables account.
- Prepare and maintain consolidated reporting between the ERP system and acquisition-related legacy systems as needed.
- Perform regular and predictable work when working remotely and perform work during scheduled and/or agreed upon times. Perform other duties as necessary and requested.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field necessary.
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functioning teams.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, including experience with financial modeling.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- High-level and complex problem-solving skills, and ability to make informed decisions.
- Apply critical thinking, deductive and mathematical reasoning, analyses, and written and verbal comprehension skills to interpret data and make recommendations as they relate to varying situations.
- Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed, organized, plan or prioritize work activities, and work within time-constraints or deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft D365 or a similar ERP system preferred.
- Able to travel locally to access work at the assigned MEI office; may infrequently travel to the Corporate accounting office.
