Brake Press Operator - Aerospace Industry

Skilcraft is a leading manufacturer of metal parts and components for the aerospace industry. We are looking for a skilled brake press operator to join our team and operate our Trumpf brake press equipment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality metal parts according to our clients' specifications and drawings. You will also perform set-up operations, inspect finished products, and adhere to safety standards. To be successful in this role, you must have at least 5 years of experience as a brake press operator, preferably in the aerospace industry. You must also be willing to work second shift 4:00pm - 2:30 AM Monday - Thursday.

Duties

  • Operate and maintain Trumpf brake press equipment to bend, cut, and shape metal parts according to specifications and drawings.

  • Perform set-up operations, such as selecting and installing dies, adjusting ram stroke, and setting machine parameters.

  • Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards and specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems with the equipment or the products.

  • Follow safety rules and regulations, and report any accidents or injuries to the supervisor.

  • Keep the work area clean and organized, and perform preventive maintenance on the equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 5 years of experience as a brake press operator, preferably in the aerospace industry.

  • Proficient in using Trumpf brake press equipment and tools, such as dies, gauges, calipers, and micrometers.

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

  • Able to perform basic math and measurements.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.

  • Willing to work second shift 4:00pm - 2:30 AM Monday - Thursday.
