Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to support engineering and prototyping for Directed Energy Systems! In this role, you will design, develop, and test prototypes, support testing and maintenance, document specifications, and analyze test results.
What You Will Be Doing:
Design, model, simulate, and fabricate prototype systems and components to support Directed Energy (DE) systems.
Maintain, repair, and operate specialized equipment, including interface hardware, source components, diagnostic tools, control systems, mechanical enclosures, and various systems such as electro-mechanical, power, plumbing, hydraulics, communications, IT, and HVAC.
Support engineering teams with test stands and test articles, providing technical drawings and specifications.
Test and evaluate systems in laboratory and field conditions, including setup, equipment checkout, site preparation, teardown, and cleanup, as well as data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.
Assemble, monitor, test, and operate various systems, and conduct calibration and operation of specialized hardware and diagnostic equipment.
What Required Skills You Will Bring
Active Secret Clearance and ability to maintain one
2+ years of experience with directed energy systems or similar systems such as radar, communications, navigation, weapons, or other military systems that provide remote sensing data
Experience documenting system requirements and specification
Experience troubleshooting/repairing electronics components
What Desired Skills You Will Bring
Electronics Technician training certifications
Previous experience working in a DoD Laboratory/Engineering environment
