Black Book, the leading provider of automotive data and analytics solutions, is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Developer. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions targeted at specific automotive industry questions for both internal and external stakeholders. The BI Developer will work closely with sales teams, business analysts, data scientists, and various stakeholders to understand and translate their needs into effective BI solutions. Ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of data and reports produced is a key part of this role. Proficiency in Tableau, SQL, Python, and other relevant technologies is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an aptitude for designing compelling visualizations and dashboards, and excellent communication skills to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test BI applications using Tableau, Spotfire, MS Office, and other tools
Maintain and update existing reports, dashboards, and data models and provide actionable insights as needed
Optimize and troubleshoot BI solutions to enhance performance, usability, and scalability
Collaborate with sales personnel, business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to gather business requirements and design data pipelines
Document BI projects and provide updates as requirements and implementations evolve to meet business needs
Provide technical support and training to end-users and other team members on BI tools and applications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, statistics, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in BI development using Tableau, Spotfire, Microsoft Power BI, or equivalent platforms
At least 5 years of experience working with SQL and relational databases
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills, with experience in project management or using project management systems (Jira, Confluence, ClickUp, etc)
Proficiency with Python, R, or other data analysis programming language
Experience in the automotive industry or vehicle valuation domain is a plus
