OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Design research projects, obtain funding, and publish manuscripts and reports to contribute to medical services research. Perform highly complex work within a specialized discipline that typically requires a medical/scientific certification or licensure. Adapt precedent to develop solutions with broad impact and/or high risk.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:

  • Conceive and design research or development projects of intermediate scope and complexity.
  • Develop detailed protocols for conducting, data analysis for own project as well as others.
  • Create proposals for external funding of projects or obtain project approval and funding through internal review procedures.
  • Publish manuscripts reporting on studies and reviews related to the area of scientific expertise.
  • Write reports to the funding source regarding the work performed, progress made, and conclusions reached.
  • Instruct and train other scientific staff and participating personnel in objectives, methodology of projects, and technical skills.
  • Not a lab-based position will be working with epidemiologist scientist helping to write protocols.

The salary range for this position is $100,000-$110,000.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Master’s degree Public Health or in a relevant biomedical discipline required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skill.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Some travel may be required.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE:

  • PHD (Infection disease, epidemiology or immunology)
  • Experience looking for funding opportunities with federal agencies.

Physical Requirements

Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions
