JOB SUMMARY:

Directly supports all Traffic operations with the Waconia, MN plant including booking shipments and creating shipping paperwork. Proactively assists the department and plant in the execution and maintenance of a “Center-Led” Logistics and Transportation Program. Assists in the development and maintenance of Traffic tasks in the Waconia Plant identifying efficiencies and improvements for execution. Actively interfaces, as directed, with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and Operations to communicate inefficiencies or improvements.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce paperwork into truck specific shipments to facilitate production, loading and delivery of product
  • Point person for LTL shipments creation
  • Facilitate last minute scheduling/traffic address changes
  • Research lost or damaged product by tracing with carriers and final mile facilities
  • Track and archive past truck paperwork. Update shipping statistics to Traffic Manager for facility
  • Back up the Sr. Traffic Coordinator when away
  • Communicate shipment delays associated with traffic in a timely manner to Customer Care
  • Support the plant and shipping departments
  • Claims filing and missing item research
  • Other duties as directed by the Operations/Plant Manager/Traffic Supervisor

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High School diploma required
  • Experience in an office type setting required. 2+ years traffic and shipping experience
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent customer and client service skills\
  • Self-motivated
  • Demonstrated proactive analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing industry and or a 3PL (Third Party Logistics) Provider

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting for Extended Periods: The nature of the job involves sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods while performing administrative tasks, using a computer, and engaging in various in-office activities.
  • Computer Use: Proficient use of a computer, including typing, mouse manipulation, and viewing a computer screen for extended periods is essential.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to use office equipment such as phones, photocopiers, fax machines, and printers. This may require fine motor skills and dexterity.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting and carrying of office supplies, documents, and other materials, typically not exceeding a certain weight limit (e.g., 20 pounds).
  • Mobility: Ability to move within the office environment to access filing cabinets, printers, and other office equipment.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders directly in person or via electronic communication.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to read printed and electronic documents, as well as distinguish colors, for tasks such as proofreading and reviewing documents.
  • Multitasking: The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work effectively, which may require mental agility and adaptability.
