Who we’re looking for:
Toyota’s Product Planning & Strategy (PPS) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Vehicle Planner on the Toyota CUV Team.
The primary responsibility of this position is to play a leading role in creating and executing vehicle strategies that support the Toyota CUV lineup.
Reporting to the Manager – Toyota Vehicle Product Planning, the person in this role will serve as the vehicle subject matter expert, product planner for his/her product lines and working cross-functionally throughout TMNA and TMC organizations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Perform detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis independently to understand and quantify the wants and needs of our target customers and market opportunities
Developing compelling business cases that provide detailed analysis on product concepts, specification requirements, volume forecast, pricing strategy, grade hierarchy, target customer, and feature content
Serve as the project and product planner to lead and manage market research teams and TMC counterparts to uncover market trends and target customer needs
Collaborate and negotiate proposals with key stakeholder groups until consensus is reached
Effectively and concisely communicate product concepts and action plans to senior management and stakeholders in the global organization
Manage product lifecycle on the vehicles assigned by generating ideas on how to best maximize sales and profit while meeting customer needs
Continuously working with Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), located in Japan, to represent U.S. market needs throughout the product development process and providing timely information required to keep projects on their development timeline
Collaborate and represent PPS in core product development and marketing processes with various cross-organization operational departments including: Engineering, Enterprise Strategy, Distribution, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Design, and SPAD
Qualification Section
What you bring
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience
Experience in pricing, product planning, sales planning, marketing strategy, strategic planning, consulting and/or other related discipline(s)
Experience in negotiation discussion and strategy
Working proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Ability to leverage your experience to promote cross-departmental alignment to ensure consistent application of processes and programs, in a quality-driven environment
Exceptional professional interpersonal skills, interacting and building relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization, internally, externally, and globally
A high degree of intellectual curiosity, confidence, analytical thinking, energy and drive to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Proven ability to quickly assimilate complex data, methods, and procedures as well as formulate concrete recommendations
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as mTAB, PowerBI, Power Information Network (PIN), Polk, JATO, or other relative statistical analysis tools
Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate conference calls with TMC counterparts
Ability and willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%) throughout the U.S. and Japan
This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position
