Job Summary:
The Quality Manager is the lead facilitator of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality system through requirements definition and full compliance flow-down into value streams including employee training and awareness to assure safety, conformity and product reliability requirements are met.
Essential Functions:
- Directly lead and manage functional quality organization on a day-to-day basis at FWB to meet all AS9100 QMS & ISO 9001 standards
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain leadership to ensure full integration of Quality Management System (QMS) into value streams
- Manage budget, costs and expenditures within the Quality function and applicable functional support requirement.
- Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating and integrating organization, industry, and customer quality requirements into new design development projects
- Led effort to define and train employees on root-cause analysis and problem solving tools to identify effective corrective actions/process improvements
- Establish collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality
- Develop quality planning methods for all product lines
- Develop process certification standards and assist in process certification
- Coordinate product and component failure analysis. Drive corrective action, and inspection of all program hardware (to J-STD-001 and IPC610 Class 3) and documentation and supplier quality improvements.
- Analyze and resolve customer complaints and field reliability issues.
- Monitor supplier performance and establish criteria and rating system for critical vendors
- Experience with internal and external quality audits
- Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years Quality assurance experience in the defense, space electronics or high end aerospace industry in either a management role or quality supervisor position; Experience of quality in product development.
- Knowledge: Expert knowledge of Quality Management Systems as well as Process Improvement and Control Techniques; Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing best practices, process control (SPC, Six Sigma, Minitab), project management.
- Skills/Abilities: Outstanding leadership skills; Demonstrated strong analytical skills, problem solving; Ability to analyze and interpret scientific/technical journals, financial reports and legal documents; Ability to demonstrate a strong sense of urgency
- Education/Certification: B.S. degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field
- Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strongly preferred experience with Hybrid electronics manufacturing methods including IPC-610 Class 3 and IPC J-STD-001.
- Strongly preferred experience with APQP AS9145 – Process flow Diagram, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Process Capability, SPC
- Preferred experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Preferred AS9100 Auditor experience
