Job Description
BAE Systems is hiring a Subcontracts Manager to support our Ship Repair business. As the Subcontracts Manager, you will manage a team responsible for subcontractor spend in the hundreds of millions across a very diverse set of subcontractors and commodities/categories. Responsibilities:

Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
- Experience in Subcontracts Management
- Experience in Project/Supplier Management
- Experience in People Management/Leadership
- Experience in a large, complex multifaceted environment, preferably in the Ship Repair industry
- Experience generating, negotiating, and executing major subcontracts/purchases
- Experience in Cost Analysis (Cost and Pricing Determination, Competitive Analysis, Market Trends, etc.)
- Comprehensive understanding of subcontractor solicitations and bid analysis/process
- Ability to develop and utilize metrics to proactively manage the department and meet critical business objectives
- Ability to resolve contractual conflicts with subcontractors through negotiations and contractual vehicles
- Ability to collaborate well with other departments, such as Contracts, Finance, Programs, Operations, and Compliance Teams
- Ability to support continuous improvement, organizational transformation, and change management
- Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team
- Business and Financial Acumen to understand impact of performance
- Strong time management/organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
