Provides systems, analytical and general HR Operational support to the HR Services and broader HR team across all Sonoco operations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, motivate and evaluate the day to day performance of HR Shared Services team members at the US locations, ensuring the adherence to all HR process provisions and SLAs are met.

  • Will lead Benefits, Workday Reporting and building upon the Employee Experience

  • Creates operational efficiencies for HR Services team by using Workday and other internal systems to streamline processes and eliminate manual work

  • Supports the HR services team to ensure smooth operational processes for Performance Management, Succession Planning, Onboarding, Leave of Absence, HR Technology, Benefits and Compensation administration.

  • Acts as a liaison between COE and HR Services team to continuously identify process improvement opportunities.

  • Assists with employee inquiries as needed and ensures root cause analysis work is completed when issues arise within HR Shared services

  • Creates, maintains and audits data reports for employees, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness at all times

  • Manages HR Services communication to employees

  • Ensures processes create certainty for the timely processing of employee life cycle transactions for all compliance purposes

  • Assists with long-term projects identified within the HR operational functions; provides guidance and ensures the service center is accounted for in all planning in a proactive manner

  • Assists HR Shared Services team members with escalations as needed; puts mitigation plans in place when issues arise and proactively communicates any concerns to the HR Services leadership team as needed

  • Creates and trains HR Shared Services team members on internal processes and Sonoco policies, ensures compliance with all documented Standard Operating Procedures within the HR Shared Services team

  • Responsible for providing benefits support to the HR teams and employees across all of Sonoco operations including elections and enrollment in benefits, FMLA requests, Annual ACA Reporting, Qualified life event inquiries, and benefits appeals

  • Acts as liaison between Benefits COE team, Benefits vendors, and benefits services operations team

  • Ensures excellent customer/employee service through timely and accurate responses

  • Serves as highest level of escalation for complex benefits requests

​Report Writing:

  • Lead report writing team to ensure accurate and timely responses for all Global Workday reporting requests.

    Responsible for execution of strategic plan and for driving accountability of key deliverables within department focused in the following key strategic areas:

People

  • Development and execution of training and skills validation for benefits competencies within ES organization

  • Employee motivation and satisfaction

  • Provide clarity in development needs of team through measurable performance review

Experience

  • RCCA– Triage of immediate issues and Failure Analysis to ensure preventative countermeasures

  • Lead execution of process quality score cards and improvement plans

  • Proactive establishment of audits for ensured accuracy within ES organization

Process

  • Daily management and action (as necessary) of leading indicator metric

  • Active leader of projects utilizing Lean methodology to drive process improvement and eliminate manual work

  • Idea generation and submissions for continuous improvement initiatives

This position is located out of our Corporate Office in Hartsville, SC

  • Basic knowledge of all HR functions and practices

  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills

  • 3-5 years of experience working with HR systems (Workday experience required)

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, candidates and vendors

  • Keen eye for process improvement and ability to effectively work through change management to institute improvements

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with the utmost discretion

  • Bachelor’s degree required with long-term interest in Human Resources career

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $77,700 to $93,240
