Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of manufacturing processes for assigned areas of machining including development, validation, maintenance and improvement of:

  • NC program creation

  • NC program revisions

  • Fixture and tooling design

  • Standard Work (Process Models & Sketches, In-Process Inspection Plans, Process Notes, etc.)

  • BOM and shop floor routings

  • Lead analysis of manufacturing costs in support of strategic Make/Buy decision making

  • Key participant in executing all aspects of production traceability and configuration control including changes/corrections to bills of materials, shop-floor routings, technical work instructions, NC programs and inspection & test plans

  • Key participant in the NCM (Non-Conforming Material) disposition process

  • Lead investigation, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions related to significant internal issues, customer complaints or third-party audits

  • Lead cross functional teams in the application of Lean and Six Sigma concepts and tools to identify and eliminate waste, variation and bottlenecks in the manufacturing, assembly, test and kit fabrication processes

  • Partner with Manufacturing Supervision to drive best-in-class TPM and 5s programs

  • Key participant in the identification, justification, procurement, testing and implementation of capital equipment investments

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of machine code (G & M code)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply CAD/CAM software for machining and manufacturing processes

  • Experience with Siemens NX/Unigraphics CAD/CAM software preferred

  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

  • Superior time management skills; ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities

  • Lean Six Sigma training and experience preferred

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or other technical discipline required. Suitable experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with CAD/CAM software (Siemens NX preferred)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a machining / metal cutting environment and exposure to varied metallurgies (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel alloys, titanium, hastelloy, aluminum)

Physical requirements

  • This position is an office/factory hybrid role.

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted.

  • Indoor office & factory environment. Sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting are common.

Compensation Details

Annual Salary: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00

Additional Compensation

Salary Range for this position: $90k-120k (the salary offered will be determined based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and will be compared with internal equity along with market data for this position).
