Rigger/CDL Driver – Austin

MEI's CDL Drivers are part of a rigging crew responsible for driving equipment to customer sites and working with heavy equipment at customer plants and construction sites.
This is a Monday - Friday 40+ hours per week local role.
• Routinely hauls oversize/overweight loads.
• Drives safely and under DOT regulations tractor & trailer rigs to transport equipment and crews to job sites.
• Requires safe handling of loads, securement of loads, loading and unloading of equipment.
• Dismantles and store rigging equipment after use.
• Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment — Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, tractor trailers, telehandlers, aerial boom lifts, etc.
• Basic knowledge of operating equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, mobile platform lifts, etc.)
• Experienced knowledge of load securing and safe hauling practices
• Ability to use tape measure; hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL and clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Minimum two (2) years driving experience at CDL level with Van and Flatbeds/must have experience with manual transmissions
- Minimum one (1) year of industrial experience or comparable experience within the construction service industry.
- Must comply with OSHA regulations, to include fit testing and wearing respirator as required.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
This is very physical, hands-on work. A Rigger/CDL Driver must be able to perform General Physical Activities — activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to work off the ground at varying heights, and not be affected by moving machinery or parts. Willing and able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment and/or outdoors in all types of weather, and over uneven ground or terrain.
In accordance with OSHA guidelines, employees may be required to participate in fit testing for respirator use.
