Primary Duties & Responsibilities

 

•   Run daily MRP summary reports on and execute purchase orders in conjunction with buy messages. 
•   Manage and Maintain purchase requisitions, quotations, etc.
•   Escalate and action shortages / potential shortages as and when they occur.
•   Managing delivery schedule & order book of components for production, engineering and NPI Projects to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
•   Calculating and distributing demand forecasts to supply base.
•   Compilation of supplier performance reports; management of supplier base including negotiating favorable pricing arrangements, lead-time reductions, financial liability, Kanban agreements, etc.
•   Ensuring suppliers adhere & perform to Supply Agreement terms & conditions.
•   Interacting closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Suppliers to resolve quality issues.
•   Coordinating with engineering departments on New Product Introductions, ensuring supply base and Operations requirements are met.
•   Ensuring that new suppliers are vetted appropriately following Coherent Corp. process 
•   Responsibility for procurement business system data input and integrity, & management of relevant item attributes, 
•   Performing cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g. materials, components, equipment and services).
•   Delivering on Key Performance Measures, incl. supplier OTD, inventory targets and SOX Compliance.
•   Take ownership and manage Suppliers of key commodities. 
•   Providing support to Procurement Supervisor, Supply Chain Management, and Global Commodity Managers.

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Operations, Finance or related subject OR 5-10 years equivalent work experience Purchasing in a Manufacturing Environment 
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing for high-tech manufacturing, including experience in the following: 
    • Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawing(s), measuring supplier capability and capacity, new product introduction, annual cost and inventory reduction.

Skills

  • Demonstrated supplier negotiation, decision-making, organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and detail orientation.
  • Previous experience with ERP/MRP systems, Oracle preferred.
  • High Level Microsoft Office experience, advanced Excel and PowerPoint Presentation Skills
  • Willingness to present to direct Supervisor & Sr. Management

Working Conditions

 

  • Typical schedule 8-5pm; some off shift work possible
  • Primarily on-site position, with potential for some remote work 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
