About the Position

Here’s your chance to join an incredible company with an opportunity to work in our Production Department. As an Electronics Assembler, you will work with fabricated mechanical parts, subassemblies, or electro-mechanical products using a variety of tools and equipment in accordance with workmanship standards. Assembly and some soldering required, depending on the product being built. Tasks are to be completed through documented quality management system to meet production quality, timelines, and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Utilizes diagrams, drawings, and oral and written instructions to assemble basic products and sub-assemblies.
  • Performs basic assembly tasks, such as wiring, encapsulating, and conformal coating of parts and assemblies.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools or production equipment.
  • Performs inspection, go/no-go, and minor testing, with electronic test equipment to ensure products meet production conformance to specifications and standards.
  • Reviews work activities with Trainer or Manager when nonconformances are encountered.
  • Packs finished products for shipment.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms as appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities include the following.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains hardware (screws, nuts, and spacers) inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies.
  • Uses computer for online timekeeping and viewing work instructions as well as documenting nonconforming material.

Inter-relationship Relationship of position with internal, lateral, and external groups.

Interacts with co-workers as a team member.

Occasionally required to climb ladders, stand, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position may occasionally require exposure to chemical hazards and to the production site where certain conditions require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses and gloves. Company will provide PPE and training. For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.

Education and Related Experience:

  • High school education or equivalent qualification in reading, writing and math ability.
  • Entry level assembler position typically requiring 1 year of assembly experience or relevant schooling in electronics manufacturing.
  • Must be able to identify electronic components and perform thru-hole soldering. Must have good hand dexterity and hand eye coordination. Must be able to distinguish different colors, audible tones and have good visual acuity.
  • Ability to meet productivity standards, deadlines, and work schedules.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Steady paced, able to work consistently with many distractions. Must be able to work within a team and independently. Must be able to maintain an organized schedule with competing priorities, executing plans within scheduled deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) with knowledge of other software programs used within the company.
  • Excellent manual dexterity with the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time in a repetitive manufacturing environment is required to operate hand/power tools and equipment appropriate to assembly.
