Job Summary
The System Administrator is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.
Essential Functions
- Design, configure, install and maintain current Windows infrastructure including Microsoft Office, Active Directory, Exchange servers, SQL clusters, File servers, Print servers and various application servers.
- Design, configure, install and maintain current JDE Enterprise One infrastructure including JDE environments, Deployment servers, Enterprise servers, Oracle Weblogic and various integrated third-party application servers.
- Design, configure, install and maintain the corporate end-user protection infrastructure.
- Design, configure, install and maintain the corporate communication systems.
- Document and implement policies and procedures related to all systems hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security and backup.
- Establish and maintain network users, user environment, directories and security. This includes all operating systems environments.
- Administration of JDE OMW configuration and project promotions including server and client package builds and deployment.
- Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems by maintaining configurations and applying patches and updates to maintain network compliance.
- Install new/rebuild existing servers in VMWare environment.
- Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources and systems.
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media while periodically testing recovery.
- Provide Tier II support per request.
- Performs other appropriate functions as directed by IT Management Team.
- Provide on-call support after hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to travel occasionally to remote facilities that may require an overnight stay.
- Ability to work in an environment where conditions may include dust.
- Ability to lift, carry, push/pull or otherwise move an object up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to work independently in high-paced environment and exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and the patience to work with users of all skill levels.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently, while achieving the desired results on time and within budget.
- Ability to analyze user's needs and creatively provide hardware and software solutions which will allow them to function in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Flexibility to work on and solve, various unscheduled projects and problems as they occur throughout the business day.
- Experience administering Windows Servers and Windows workstations.
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum 2 years of work experience in related field.
- Professional Certifications offered by Microsoft is a plus.
- SharePoint experience is a plus.
