Description
We have 1 CBA position as a Simulation Maintenance Technician II Supporting Task Order 19 and
the CDT-TWV at Fort Leonard Wood, MO on the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and
Simulations (TADSS) Maintenance Program (ATMP).
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
· Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
· Requires limited supervision.
· Performs tasks troubleshooting and repairing military simulators, including using tools and test equipment such as multi-meters to diagnose faults.
· Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
Basic Job Functions:
· Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, modify, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices.
· Perform maintenance support anywhere the training device is located within installations training area or boundaries.
· Keep training area clean and free of clutter.
· Perform rust prevention and corrosion control.
· Ensure each training simulator is free of dirt/dust or standing water (best commercial standards)
· Accurately maintain component and parts levels in storeroom.
· Captures and records accurate and timely maintenance history ensuring that unique corrective measures for work orders and repair are annotated into the Management Information System (MIS).
Requirements
(Minimum Qualifications):
· Associate degree in electronic technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and three years minimum work experience in a related discipline or three years related military training or a combination of education and experience.
· Three years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / networking, and simulation platform maintenance.
· Prefer past work experience with computer systems / networking, and military simulation platform maintenance.
· Experience with Microsoft Office software operations.
· Ability to interpret wiring diagram and schematics.
· Converse orally and in writing with corporate administrative, technical personnel, and local Customer.
· Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance as required, along with a Government Common Access Card (CAC) for access to specific training systems and to access other installations and/or a military installation access permit.
Work Environment:
· Able to stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and climb ladder up to 25 ft.
· Must be able to travel to various locations across the U.S. for training.
· Must be able to work occasional shift, night, weekend, or holiday hours in support of military training.
· May be required to work in extreme cold and heat conditions.
