We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Project Engineering to lead our Engineering teams based onsite in Lenexa, KS in developing cutting-edge products for our Oxygen and Passenger Service Unit (PSU) business.
You will be tasked with creating and maintaining Development Plans that describe the planned activities, costs, resources, and other technical aspects throughout the course of the project. You are responsible for the strategic and tactical execution of a program, overseeing technical, schedule, and financial aspects. You will align with the Program Chief and Engineering functional leaders to ensure that programs are properly resourced. Strong communication is critical, as the role requires you to interface with Engineering Leadership, Program Managers, and other functional leaders across multiple business areas within Collins Aerospace. You will be responsible for internal technical project reviews to ensure that the leadership team is aligned on project status and direction.
What YOU Will Do:
Reports directly to Oxygen & PSU Program Chief, Sr. Manager Project Engineering
Lead new product development programs at the Lenexa site
Responsible for teams’ execution of projects to meet program objectives
Provide managerial review and control over multiple disciplines of engineering efforts
Direct activities of engineering or technical personnel involved in designing, fabricating, modifying, or testing new products
Responsible for managing budget, schedule, and technical performance of projects
Participate in customer facing meetings for multiple customers
Travel is required up to 10% of the time
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

Minimum 2 years of project engineering or experience in the design of oxygen systems.
Qualifications We Prefer
Advanced degree preferred
Direct technical leadership experience
Experience with change management process
Experience leading and mentoring team in fundamentals of engineering, product design, RCCA, and processes and procedures.
Strong business acumen to support setting business and department priorities
Exceptional organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Experience with MS Office Suite
Experience with MS Project
