Maintenance Supervisor

POSITION PURPOSE: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for serving as a hands-on technical resource for resolving equipment problems, completing regular facility repairs, proactively managing additional maintenance, coordinating maintenance scheduling, diagnosing issues affecting production, and assisting with other mechanical problems as directed. In addition, the individual in this position is responsible for promoting OWI safety standards, identifying corrective actions, procuring replacement parts, and performing regular inspections to prevent future issues.
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Trains maintenance department staff
- Organizes and oversees scheduling and work for maintenance staff
- Conducts performance evaluations
- Oversees day-to-day operations of the maintenance department
- Evaluates systems and facilities
- Develops maintenance procedures and schedules
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner
- Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects
- Performs other related duties as assigned
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to schedule projects, and staff
- PC Proficiency, including excel
- Math skills, including multiplication, division, and practical application of numbers
- Solid written communication skills and ability to work with a team
- Understanding of cost analysis, productivity costs, and application to overall functions
- Ability to present information clearly and accurately
- Ability to work on a deadline and ensure accuracy
- Good judgment and knowledge of safety procedures
- Strong cooperative ability and understanding of external partner responsibilities
Education, Certifications, and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Five years of maintenance experience required
- Handyman or mechanical certification preferred
- Electrical, Plumbing, or other contracting experience helpful
- Additional mechanical aptitude or experience helpful
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
- Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
- Must be able to climb ladders and work, at times, from heights
