Hexcel is seeking a dedicated and skilled Inspection Supervisor to join their Kent, WA team. Are you an experienced leader with a passion for quality and safety? In addition to leading our inspection team, you will be involved in all aspects of business as it relates to manufacturing and capacity planning, scheduling, manufacturing planning, tooling, shop supplies, and serving on various functional teams or groups.

Summary pay range: $59,572 - $102,123 annual salary.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and guide the inspection team, providing support in time and attendance management, headcount planning, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and enhance team performance, implementing continuous improvement strategies to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Safety Focus: Conduct safety meetings, promote adherence to safety protocols, and champion a culture of safety awareness among team members.
  • Training and Skill Development: Facilitate training sessions to enhance the skill set of the inspection team, ensuring that they are well-equipped to meet quality standards. Lead and motivate team in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Business Integration: Collaborate with various functional teams and groups to align inspection processes with overall manufacturing goals. Engage in capacity planning, scheduling, and manufacturing planning.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze labor hours, overtime, overhead, and material utilization, seeking opportunities for process optimization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Quality Management: Own the quality inspection process of multiple programs, ensuring their successful execution within set quality parameters.
  • Off Shift Responsibility: Oversee off shift employees and ensure seamless operations round the clock.
  • Communication: Communicate issues, changes, and requests to suppliers. Maintain effective communication with your team and internal customers to keep all stakeholders updated with critical information that might impact people or production.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a medium-volume manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing, composite manufacturing, injection or compression mold manufacturing, or other high technology-based company strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with Quality Assurance Inspection, measurement, and inspection equipment. Knowledge and experience in parts inspection preferred.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of inspection processes, quality control, and safety protocols.
  • Proven track record in team leadership, performance management, and employee development.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing and implementing lean manufacturing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
