The Senior Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller. The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization’s financial resources and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. The Senior Accountant must be accustomed to a high volume of automated and manual transactions, fast paced manufacturing environment, and new ERP system implementation.

What You'll Do

  • Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position.

  • Assist the month end close process.

  • Preparation of periodic account reconciliations.

  • Assist the treasury function by performing cash payments and cash receipts transactions as needed.

  • Assist in preparing information for completion of Mexico corporate income tax returns.

  • Assist in preparing IMSS reports, SAT reports and other statutory reporting.

  • Assist with the compilation of deliverables to internal auditors.

  • Participate in the new ERP (INFOR/LN) implementation.

  • Ad Hoc projects deemed necessary by the accounting department.

  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls.

  • Ensure compliance with Marmon policies (SPIs) by reinforcing internal control processes in place to obtain required documentation and approvals.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient user of large ERP Systems (experience with INFOR/LN preferred, but not required).

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic, and a flexible and collaborative work style.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Team oriented and willing to perform detailed work.

  • Flexible and adaptable to changes.

  • Strong understanding of Mexico GAAP in regards to maquiladoras, as well as commercial accounting.

  • Ability to interact with various levels of staff throughout the organization.

  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts and good analytical skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.

  • Adherence to timelines and deliverables, monitoring self-performance to ensure achievement of results.

  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

  • Experience in INFOR/LN or BAAN is a plus.

  • ERP implementation or merger integration experience is a plus.

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
