Job Summary: 

Prepares meals for drilling rig crews and keeps inventory of all food and living quarter supplies; Orders food and living quarter supplies and records meals served for billing. Ensures all areas of the living quarters are well kept and clean. Supervises crews to ensure dirty laundry is prepared and returned to rig crews. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepares meals for rig crews with the assistance of Galleyhands as needed; Ensures that all personnel in contact with food conduct preparation with adequate sanitary conditions. 
  • Supervises the sanitation of the galley, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and all other tools and equipment used to prepare, serve, and dispose of food products. 
  • Communicates inventory of supplies and supply restocking requirements to the OIM -as directed. 
  • Supervises the general housekeeping for all areas inside the rig living quarters
  • Keeps a record of meals served as directed by the OIM; Communicates the record of meals served as directed by the OIM
  • Supervises the unpacking and inventories of all incoming supplies and place them in the designated storage areas
  • Shall ensure hazardous waste is separated and disposed of appropriately. (Gulf of Mexico only)

Education, Training, and Experience to satisfy essential job functions: 

Required: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education.
