First Shift: 5:00 am - 3:00 pm
Second Shift: 3:00 pm - 1:00 am
PURPOSE:
Clean, sanitize, maintain all areas inside and outside the building following all sanitation procedures and safety guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform plant sanitation procedures, programs and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for production.
- Strictly adhere to sanitation, GMP, and safety standards.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation activities according to Master Sanitation Schedules for the facility interior and exterior and ensure superior sanitation of equipment and surrounding areas.
- Participate in regular meetings with Team Lead and Sanitation Manager to discuss quality and sanitation improvements.
- Help with problem resolution related to sanitation and sanitation quality issues.
- Communicate with Sanitation Lead or Sanitation Manager the need of chemicals; checking inventory and requesting supplies when necessary.
- Understand and demonstrate the Company’s core values and operating principles.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Make sure all cleaning tools for employees are stored properly like brushes, gloves, soap, napkins, garbage cans, etc.
- Maintain the inside areas of the warehouse to the standard level required by the Master Sanitation Schedule, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain the outside areas of the building to the standard level required by the Master Sanitation Schedule and safety guidelines.
- Maintain sanitation tools and equipment in clean and working order.
- Complete other functions that include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, pulling trash, cleaning, painting, arranging, organizing, etc.
- Service other departments in areas relating to sanitation, sanitation tools, or sanitation procedures.
- Inform the supervisor or manager about stock inventory shortages for sanitation items.
- Move cans or drums of powder.
- According to the area assigned, follow cleaning procedures to keep the area clean and neat.
- Perform other duties as assigned support to Compact Industries Company business objectives.
- General cleaning of all machine rooms, blending area, warehouse and production floor as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule or department heads.
- Other functions assigned but not limited to painting, gardening, snow removal, organizing, sanitation equipment operation etc.
- Prepare the building for audits and customer visits.
- Some tasks may be required off-site of the facility.
- Assisting with company events.
Requirements
- Walking and standing 100% of the time
- Lift up to 55 pounds
- Lift, pull up to 100 pounds
- Move cans or drums of liquids
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, dust areas, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- This position may be performed in outside weather conditions
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
- Basic knowledge of HACCP, food safety and GMP principles
- Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines; self-directed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety and product quality.
- Basic computer skills
- Organized
- Be able to drive a Lift truck is a plus
- Available to perform duties inside/outside of the facility
- Detail oriented

- Ability to follow instructions, learn new skills, and apply those skills.
- High School or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year sanitation experience in the food-industry preferred
