We’re looking for a silicon validation engineer to join the DDR/HBM PHY lab team.

In this position, you will be part of a team that brings up and tests the silicon hardware design for the next-generation DDR and HBM PHYs in the Synopsys IP portfolio. The job entails working with senior engineers to verify the performance and functionality of our high-performance memory PHY test chips. You will leverage your cross-domain knowledge of computer architecture and your lab experience to enable functionality of new design hardware, verify electrical performance parameters against design specifications, and bring insight into customer issues. You will join a supportive, multi-person engineering team engaged in these activities across Synopsys’ DDR and HBM PHY development projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of our senior lab staff, bring up new PHY test chips to operate with full functionality
Explore the operation of new design functions and features
Create tests to verify and optimize hardware training firmware
Perform testing and correlation of design parameters
Validate electrical performance versus design specifications
Run hardware tests to guide future design decisions, interacting with PHY design team
Explore test chip operation arising from customer inquiries and create responses through customer reports
Document results, conclusions, and technical insights into performance, power, area, and functional parameters
Assist with lab equipment selection and maintenance
Interact and communicate with design teams performing digital and analog circuit design
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Possesses a bachelor’s degree in computer or electrical engineering with industry experience in hardware validation
Well-versed in Python and C coding for hardware test and data collection
Able to set up and take and process electrical measurements, such as time-domain signal capture, eye diagrams, and jitter analysis
Hands-on experience with board-level soldering
Understands digital/analog mixed-signal system functional components, such as PLLs, DLLs, DACs, FIFOs, state machines, and logical pipelines
Able to generate documentation through written reports
Able to work in a multi-site team environment to communicate ideas, understand problems, and seek insights
Able to work autonomously with high-level guidance
This is an on-site position
The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $97,000.00-$169,000 In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
