Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager

Backup for: QA Manager, Quality Inspectors, Quality Technicians
Position Purpose:
The Quality Assurance Supervisor ensures that daily activities within the production environment operate efficiently and within the quality management system guidelines and customer requirements. The QA Supervisor is responsible for daily operations of the Quality department and assignments of QA Inspectors and Technicians.
Position Functions:
· Supervises and directs the daily activities of Inspectors and Technicians in the production area in conjunction with the QA Manager.
· Ensures quality inspection work areas are set up for daily inspection activities to include materials, tools, and documentation to meet shipping and customer demands.
· Actively monitors all work processes being performed by Inspectors and Technicians throughout work shifts.
· Participates in the training and retraining of associates in quality standards and processes.
· Ensures that all associates are operating within documented processes.
· Participates in, supports, and executes Company initiatives and process improvement efforts.
· Accurately maintains quality related records updated and organized.
· Ensure accurate and complete data is collected and documented and status reports are completed.
· Conduct job task and quality training and retraining.
· Perform assigned internal audits and support external audits.
· Ensures all safety and 5S are followed without exception.
· Perform in a safe and productive manner.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A minimum of three years of experience in quality supervision role with direct reports.
- Ability to address and/or communicate employee concerns and performance expectations and feedback with professionalism (in conjunction with senior management).
- Knowledge of product audit processes and systems, root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Working knowledge of APQP
- Working knowledge of process development and workflow
- Experience with precision measurement equipment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
- Practical experience utilizing database
- Proactively drive continuous quality improvement
- Excellent communication skills with all levels, internally and externally
- Previous audit experience required
Skills & Knowledge:
- Automotive experience preferred
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and IATF
- Advanced knowledge of various inspection tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of an organization
- Ability to prioritize work flow, multitask and problem solve in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Organized, innovative, enthusiastic, and diplomatic
- Strong relationship management skills
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with extreme temperature changes standing/moving up to 12 hours per shift.
· Ability to use measurement tools.
· Ability to see, feel, walk, stand, bend, and stoop frequently throughout a 12-hour period.
· Ability to sit at computer monitor for long periods.
· Ability to lift 5 lbs. constantly, 10-20 frequently, 21+ lbs. occasionally.
