Job description: Field Calibration Technician 

Reports to: Service Manager 

Job Summary  

We are in search of an accurate, mechanically inclined technician who is a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and time-manage effectively, someone who will take pride in precision measurements. Must have strong communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude. 

Key Responsibilities, Qualification, and Skills 

• Perform calibration, adjustment, and basic repair of precision test equipment, with a focus on mechanical and dimensional measuring instruments. Those with background and/or previous experience within any of the following categories will be considered: pressure, torque, thermodynamic, weight/force, dimensional measurements including ULMs, micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, and other distance/height gages.  

• Previous work involving optical comparators and CMMs is also valuable. Those with electrical/electronic calibration experience are also encouraged to apply. 

• Ideally possess practical experience evaluating out of tolerance gages, with the ability to research and adapt to varying modalities.  

• Familiarity with ISO 17025 and gage management software is a definite plus. 

• Ability to follow procedures and show repeatability in measurement.  

• Work independently, possess strong math skills, and pay great attention to detail. Computer literacy and comfort with operating a standard laptop computer is preferred. 

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. 

• This position requires travel throughout the US about 25-40% of the time. 

• High school Diploma or equivalent (Required) 

• Calibration: 2 years (Required)
