Overview

This position is responsible for the procurement of scrap metal for the Houston yard.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for entire process of procuring scrap metal from all generators, from quoting though payment.
• Develop and maintain existing customer relationships.
• Generate opportunities and build relationships with new and prospective customers.
• Retain and maintain profitable accounts within established pricing guidelines.
• Identify and implement margin opportunities with existing accounts.
• Take proactive measures to quickly resolve external/internal customer service issues.
• Complete paperwork to meet deadlines.
• All other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous sales or scrap buying experience.
• Working knowledge of scrap pricing, material identification, costs, operations, and transportation.
• Ability to generate and qualify leads and close deals.
• Ability to empathize with others with the intent of turning a difficult situation in to a positive outcome.
• Intermediate to expert level with Microsoft products, with ability to quickly learn new software programs.
• Ability to work independently and in team setting.
• Ability to prioritize while working multiple tasks with specific deadlines.
• Flexible schedule and travel required.
