Customer Support Advisor

Five Star Equipment has a terrific opportunity for a Customer Support Advisor (CSA) for the Rochester, NY territory. We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced sales professional to join our team. The CSA is responsible for driving product support sales (service, parts & undercarriage) to customers within their assigned territory. The CSA is viewed by the field customer as an extension of the service, parts and sales departments. The CSA fosters brand loyalty by promoting equipment maintenance and service programs to customers, parts sales and providing technical support.   

 Responsibility   

  • Develops and implements strategies to ensure assigned territory coverage and increase business profits. Schedules calls and visits to current and potential customers. Develops rapport with current and future customers and maintains satisfaction to ensure ongoing business. 
  • Works in the field calling on customers to drive incremental product support sales (service, parts and undercarriage work).  
  • Gathers year, make, model or function of equipment to be serviced. Offers recommendations for needed parts, preventative services or other requests based on needs being discussed.  
  • Assists field customers with obtaining quotes for common needs like batteries, engines, bucket teeth, oil, filters, PM, etc.  
  • Markets and sells both OEM and aftermarket ground engaging tools, undercarriage and miscellaneous wear parts.  
  • Markets and sells repair services for all OEM equipment and competing manufacturers.  
  • Markets and sells value added programs such as extended warranties, maintenance and repair plans, machine inspections, overhauls, standard job quotes, and special promotions offered by the company.  
  • Performs follow-up calls at customer locations on wholegoods and major parts and service sales.  
  • Maintains/updates CRM database for customer sales calls and other encounters.  
  • Provides introductions and limited technical support on John Deere Worksite Solutions.
  • Actively participates in the company’s safety mind frame, is aware of one’s surroundings and wears all PPE at all times.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge


  • Must possess 3 - 5 years' experience in Parts, Sales and Service within the Large Construction Equipment Field.  
  • Prior experience in Customer Service, Troubleshooting and Diagnosing Large Construction Equipment issues is preferred.   
  • Manages one’s own time, resources and performs to the best of their ability under all work conditions, etc.
  • Ability to use laptop computer and software applications such as the CDK business system, Microsoft Office and Internet functions.  
  • Ability to work flexible hours as well as work in various demanding environmental conditions.
