The Technical Writer develops, writes, and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publication.

This role is onsite in Winston-Salem, NC

What You Will Do:

  • Plans, organizes, writes, prepares, and edits technical publications and product support literature.
  • Plans, formats, and arranges layout of publications.
  • Selects photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material. Assists in laying out material for publication.
  • Research engineering schematics, technical design specifications, interface design, design diagrams and test specifications with design engineers.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mock-ups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
  • Reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Working knowledge of FrameMaker, Teamcenter, TCR&A, 3D PDFs, Adobe Acrobat, Graphic Software, SGML/XML documentation, JIRA
  • Aerospace industry experience or similar
  • Experience with data configuration

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
