Position Summary:
The planning analyst is responsible for the development of demand plans, managing and maintaining inventory, and purchasing for their assigned categories. Create safety stock and inventory policies by analyzing order activity and forecasts to determine purchase quantities. Support company’s inventory strategies by meeting turn goals and reducing inventory levels while maintaining customer fill rates. This associate will work closely with the Sales Planning, Sourcing, and Customer Fulfillment teams.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage and maintain inventory and safety stock policies to maintain goal inventory levels.
- Ensuring timely and accurate forecast of customer demand by analyzing forecast variances, order, and retail sales trends.
- Analyze statistical forecast models in Logility using historical factors and MAPE to ensure the system is developing the best forward forecast for each sku.
- Review replenishment demand for purchasing suggestions and inventory location transfers if needed.
- Determine buy quantities for all styles in area of responsibility and issue purchase orders.
- Review new order forms for new style launches to determine inventory quantity needed and issue purchase orders.
- Review inventory reports to Identify low-volume SKUs and work with the sales team on an exit strategy.
- Analyze current inventory levels with WIP and recommend purchase order expedites as needed.
- Utilize and master forecasting and replenishment systems (Logility, ThoughtSpot & Blue Cherry).
- Identify and consolidate obsolete SKUs with less than optimal OH units to sell to the Off-price customers.
- Work on SKU rationalization projects.
- Ad hoc inventory projects.
- Build reports on an as needed basis to better analyze inventory levels against goals.
Education/License Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business or a related field.
General Experience Requirements:
- Required: 2-3 years experience as an analyst, planner, or inventory manager.
- Preferred: Experience in corporate retail, specifically within the fashion or consumer goods industry
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills accompanied by the flexibility to quickly adapt in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Clear and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Forecasting/Demand planning experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Experience with Logility, John Galt, or any supply chain planning software is a plus.
- Experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Thoughtspot is a plus.
