Job Purpose/Overview

A critical enabler to the future success of the Mars Pet Nutrition business is to transform the way we innovate. We have built a new organization to create adjacent and disruptive innovations, which shift the portfolio into critical “must win” category spaces – servicing unmet pet and pet parent needs, delivering value through our interconnected ecosystem of pet and pet parent solutions and identifying and launching products into emerging category trends and white spaces. This role will be responsible for managing a set of projects necessary to deliver these innovations, from inception through to launch in the defined market(s).

Key Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Accountable for assisting in the alignment of the 2-6-year strategic innovation pipeline for Global Pet Nutrition’s innovation platforms: Care, Nourish, and Connect.

• Leads a broad cross-functional, cross-market team to execute assigned strategic innovation projects in the aligned time frame.

• Works with cross-functional teams using agile team structures and dynamic resourcing methodologies to ensure project delivery and optimal (most efficient) use of all resources available.

• Collaborates with global brand teams and key regional teams to ensure flawless execution of

innovations in applicable markets.

• Embodies the principles of “agile,” champions progress before perfection, and leads and inspires dynamic resourcing recommendations over the lifecycle of assigned projects.

• Leads preparation of all materials for the Innovation Council governance forum.

• Partners with regional and global teams to track and measure in market performance to provide

thorough after-action reviews in the spirit of continuous improvement.

Context and Scope

This role reports to the Project Management Director, Global Innovation and works closely with both Global and Regional growth teams. The job holder has oversight of the assigned innovation projects in terms of cross-functional execution and will be held accountable to delivering innovation as approved by the governing group and in accordance with IVCP growth targets.

This role requires the ability to demonstrate flexibility and enterprise perspective, championing business before self and embracing ambiguity and the necessity of making tough trade-offs between projects. The person will also be required to navigate high levels of ambiguity and liaise with a variety of stakeholders across all functional areas of expertise, including Supply Chain / R&D / Finance / Legal / Digital COE / External Partners, and the Global Marketing teams to ensure project delivery remains fit for purpose over the course of time.

This role will interact closely with the global brand teams and regions to identify consumer and customer problems and solutions, which stretch across the portfolio and translate these opportunities into actionable innovation projects. Upon project approval, this role will lead the agile global teams through the milestones and delivery of these projects.

Qualifications

· BA in Business, Management, Project Management or a related field

· 5+ years experience in Project Management and/or Innovation Management.

· Experience leading indirect reporting teams.

· Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving accountability to timelines and budgets.

· Expert in innovation processes, design thinking, agile, project management, and S&OP+.

· International experience in working with teams across geographies and functions.
